laboratory, I had noticed that their $35000 state of the art drilling unit was not being used.
I could not believe these people were drilling the lenses for their boss with miniature drill presses. |

I found out why! These automated machines generally don’t have any feel for cleaning out
the drill holes so that the plugs that are inserted are not jammed in. |

We switched over to hand drilling all of our lenses in house too and the freedom of being able
to custom angle the lenses and clean out the drill holes has allowed us to make eyeglasses
that don’t break easily like other processes. |
