Why Training and Certification? |
|
You might question why Vision Fore Golfing requires the training and certification of all optometrists,
ophthalmologists and other doctors who do eye examinations. The reality is, if you are reading this page,
you are likely an expert vision care professional who might also be dispensing eyeglasses. So, why would you
need additional training and certification for producing products and services that you are already delivering? |
|
There answer is twofold. Firstly, your expertise is required to be part of the North American Vision Fore
Golfing Eyeglass team and secondly, your expertise needs to be “exposed” and reconfigured to be able to
produce these precision eyeglasses. |
Please Allow Us to Further Explain. |
|
Professionals in most fields develop routines and habits that facilitate their work. In most cases this
is a good thing because it makes them more productive. Novices marvel at how much experts can do with
seemingly so little time and effort. Their knowledge “expertise” operates in the background, allowing
them to produce and respond quickly to new challenges and problem. |
|
The flipside and detriment of expertise is that since it works in the background, it produces habits
that usually go unexamined. These habits get in the way of learning new procedures that produce new results.
For example, people develop habits when they learn how to drive. For the most part this is good because
without them, driving would be extremely difficulty and awkward. However, these habits also prevent
people from changing their driving behavior when conditions change. Thus we have, in temperate climates,
the annual rash of accidents when the first snow comes. |
|
Doctors who do eye exams and opticians who dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses, similarly, are also
creatures of habit. They learned certain ways in their professional schooling, which allowed them to be
competent and productive. Their knowledge base was established at that time and most professionals work
to continuously update their knowledge and skills. However what they learned when first educated creates
resistance to learning new ways of doing things. |
|
Becoming a Certified Vision Fore Golfing Eyeglass Dispenser requires “unpacking” your underlying knowledge
and expertise in order to expose it up to a proven approach to designing eyeglasses that we call the
10 step process. This process requires that your existing knowledge and expertise be applied in a unique
manner to produce Vision Fore Golfing Eyeglasses. Thus, you need training to use your competence in new ways. |
The Art and Science of Refraction |
|
Paul Boyko Jr., the creator of Vision Fore Golfing Eyeglasses, deeply believes in the science of refraction
and vision correction. As an optician, he took it upon himself to learn the science of refraction. He did
this in an effort to not only better understand the prescriptions that his clients brought him to fill and
but also so that he could respond to the occasional “conflicts” that he noticed when he compared patient
histories to the new prescriptions that his clients were given. |
|
When professionals in the vision correction industry understand the roles and expertise of their counterparts,
things seem to work better. |
|
Boyko Jr. wants to assist you in learning the art and science of making precision eyeglasses. He knows that
when professionals develop cross-expertise. For example, when opticians learn more about refractions and
optometrists and ophthalmologists gain an understanding of how lenses are manufactured and dispensed,
then the people needing vision correction will get a superior product. |
|
The purpose of the Vision Fore Golfing Eyeglass Dispensing Certification program is to teach you the art
and science of designing and manufacturing eyeglasses that enable the presbyopic golfer to improve their game.
You will learn a ten-step process and be coached on stocking your facility with proper equipment and tools
that will enable you to be part of the Vision Fore Golfing Manufacturing Team. Once certified, you will
experience of one of the most exciting developments in the vision correction industry in recent history. |

The Certification Process and Timeline |
|
The Certification Process begins when you complete the Certified Vision Fore Golfing Dispenser application form.
If you meet the basic requirements, our Director of Training, Development and Certification will contact you
to arrange a visit to your site. He will spend two days there; gathering information about your facilities,
delivering and setting up the inventory of samples and explaining the 10-step process and the role that you
will play in producing our precision perfect golfing eyeglasses for your clients. Once your knowledge and
skill level meets our criteria, you will be granted provisional certification status, which will enable you
to initiate the production of Vision Fore Golfing eyeglasses. |
|
Provisional certification status remains in effect for three months. During that time, you will have the
opportunity to demonstrate your ability to not only collect the necessary information to send in a work
order for golfing eyeglasses but also to properly dispense them to your clients. A minimum of three orders
will be required to evaluate your performance. Telephone and e-mail coaching will be available during
this provisional phase to help you become more proficient. Full certification status will be granted
after successful completion of the time and order requirements. |
|
Once you achieve full certification status, the Director of Training, Development and Certification will
work with you to develop a marketing strategy and the skill set necessary in order to build your client
base among golfers. This will involve e-mail and telephone coaching and direct participation in trade shows,
golfing tournaments and other promotional opportunities. |
|
Certification status will be reviewed after one year. |
