Fitting Cross Method is a very simple and easy way to ensure the accuracy of the placement
of our high quality eyeglass lenses into your frame. We generally start off using a pupilometer
as a reference point for your pupilary distance. |
 |
We then integrate this measurement
onto the front side of the demo
lens in the frame with a washable
marker. The very first fitting cross
begins as only a reference.
We look at you right into the eyes
and we can see where we have to
start adjusting our measurements. |
|
|
When using a washable marker to do this system, we start at the front of the lens, do the second measurement on the inside of the demo lens, and then wash off the front surface. We keep switching from side to side until we get the fitting crosses exactly through the center of the pupils. |
 |
We normally start off by doing the
vertical measurements first, and
get them accurate and documented.
Then we add the horizontal
measurement and then have you
stand up and have them position
your head in a normal comfortable
position as if you were looking across
the street or driving their vehicle. |
|
Once you are to be relaxed, we will then walk in front of you and take a look into your eyes to see
if the horizontal measurement is correct. It is always nice to do this on your own existing eyeglasses
first because you can see somewhat well through your own eyeglasses, and this gives us a great
starting point. When doing your vertical lines, I don’t want you focusing on my nose because your
eyes will be converging. Second of all, we have to have you stand up so that we can make sure
that your head position is comfortable. |
 |
We observe you in your normal
head position with glasses you
can already see with.
Then when you go back to the
demos, and we can compare
head positions, as you can’t
see through the demo lenses. |
|
The fitting crosses we have made on the demo glasses are verified for measurements
once they fit properly through the center of your pupils. |
